Anime Boston has quite a selection of amazing game shows this year. Each one is sure to be a blast! We've put a lot of work into them and we hope you participate and win excellent prizes.
Voice Acting Contest
Think you got the chops to work it along side your favorite dub voice actors? Think you can do it better than all of them? Well now's your chance to put your money where your mouth is!
Anime Unscripted
Formerly known as "Whose Line is it Anime?", Anime Unscripted is the hit improv comedy event seen at Anime Boston, Nan Desu Kan, PortConMaine, Bakuretsu Con, and elsewhere. Watch as quick-witted contestants take on the challenging games provided by your host, PatrickD of The Chibi Project. Of course, there's audience participation too, so everyone gets to be a part of the show.
Cosplay Human Chess
This is one of this year's biggest attractions. Come see a life-size chess board filled with a shocking arrangement of character cosplay as never seen before! This year's match has a theme, Shounen vs. Shoujo! So bring your frilliest dresses and most elegant capes, your spikiest armor and most rugged camouflage and help us solve the age-old question: Can shoujo beat shounen, or will shounen jump into the lead? You never know what excitement and surprises we might have in store for your viewing pleasure.
Anime Dating Game
If you thought things couldn't get crazier at Anime Boston 2006, think again! Come see a set of amusingly likely and unlikely pairs battle it out in the name of love and be shocked at the resulting couple! A truly special delight full of surprises that we're dying to show you! This year we'll have two different sessions:
- Thrilling regular session
- Exciting late-night Shounen Ai/Shoujo Ai session (18+ only)
Iron Cosplay
This game show takes the exciting atmosphere from Iron Chef and puts your cosplaying abilities to the test! See which team can make the best cosplay with the limited amount of time and materials given. (Each costume must be an actual well-known character.) This is sure to be full of surprises and laughs so don't miss out!
Anime Name That Tune
So, you think you know the theme songs to a bunch of your favorite anime shows, huh? Think you could name what show a song is from faster than the person next you? Here's your chance! Compete against your fellow fans to name anime(and a few video game) theme songs after hearing them! Saturday 2:30-5 pm, Panel A
