Facilties Liaison

Pre-convention duties include coordinating with the Executive Staff concerning questions for our facilities, the Hynes Convention Center, Sheraton Boston Hotel, and any overflow hotels for the convention. The Facilities Liaison keeps track of the attendee room block status, submits the staff and VIP guest room lists, and submits electrical power request forms and room layouts supplied by other Anime Boston divisions/departments to the Hynes and Sheraton Hotel. The Facilities Liaison must be attentive to e-mail and Anime Boston forums and able to make phone calls during business hours as necessary. Proximity to Boston is a plus, as there are occasional meetings on weekdays at the facilities.

At the convention, the Facilities Liaison is responsible for communicating requests from staff to the facilities such as modifying room temperatures, requesting water refills and trash pick ups, meeting space door locking/unlocking, resolving staff hotel room issues, and assisting the Sheraton Hotel with enforcing the new Code of Conduct. The Facilities Liaison needs to be on site from Thursday morning through Monday morning.

Staff are required to read forums once a week, and it is best to read the staff forums for all convention departments to familiarize yourself with all areas of the convention.

All staff are required to help with the post-con pack-up after the convention ends on Sunday, unless pre-approved to leave early at the time of hire.
